I have been thinking about writing this for a while. I know there haven’t been updates in quite some time and there’s a reason for that. I have been living, not for posts, not for Instagram but just for me. I loved updating all of you on this site as we moved, got adjusted and tried to make a life on Crete. Hopefully I made some of you laugh with our mistakes and missteps.

As we hit our 2-year mark we really feel like we are making quite a life here. We have friends, real friends, not just acquaintances. We recently did some improvements to our apartment and decided to stay another 2 years near the city center. Greek school is, well, challenging, I recently did a one-week Greek retreat to work on my speaking and I think it helped a lot! I also started doing work online, career coaching and it’s super rewarding and a great way to use my brain and earn a little money.

I think the biggest change is we decided to sell our beloved house in Tampa and really close that chapter. We spent years improving and loving that house in a neighborhood that we know will always feel like home. The decision wasn’t easy but keeping a 100-year-old home in good shape from Greece just isn’t possible and it’s time to let someone else enjoy it. I might have cried a little when it sold but I have come to terms with it and am looking forward to visiting the new owners. Luckily, we found friends to buy it so we can’t wait to visit them.

So why the random update? As I previously said, I have enjoyed updating everyone on our move, our life and what we are doing but now I think it’s time to also close this chapter- The Journey has happened, it’s in the past tense, now we live. I saw a funny Instagram meme that said “Me living in the moment because I only know how to speak Greek in the present tense” made me laugh and I have learned future and past tenses, but you get the idea. So, I guess this is goodbye, until you come visit or I see you in November in Tampa, or just send me a text or a call. Thanks for all of the support during my times of struggle, your comments made me smile and not feel so alone when I was trying to make a life here.

Love, Anne, Jeff, Bella and Finn
